Intelligent Automation Enabled Data Migration Helps Life Sciences Major Reduce Processing Time

Industry: Life Sciences

  • Early identification of short term remediations and non- standard documents helped save processing time.

  • Intelligent automation solutions significantly reduced the need to engage temp resources.

  • Average time taken per case reduced up to 5 minutes depending on complexity.

  • Intelligent automation restricts multiple reviews of mapping documents.

Client Overview:

Company is headquartered in CA and specializes in development and commercialization of medicines for central nervous system (CNS) disorders. It is conducting several Phase II and III trials for treatments related to Alzheimer’s disease, schizophrenia, etc.

Customer was looking for a partner to support data migration activities where PV data needed to be migrated from the source database.

Non Standard Source Document And Large Volume Of Cases Created Huge Backlog

The client was dealing with a large number of cases that contained non-machine readable data; these cases had client specific in-house formats that were hard to standardize. The client needed to migrate 18,000 cases within stringent timelines of 4 months. Moreover, upto to 10% of these cases included non-machine-readable information with non – standard source documents. To successfully migrate the cases multiple reviews of mapping documents was required.

AiRo Did An Initial Assessment To Identify The Fields To Be Migrated And Successfully Completed The Field Mapping

AiRo created an intelligent Bot to extract information from the source document and enter the data into the Argus database to create new cases. This required periodic updates for the Bots to comply with revised mapping documents. The Bot activities included book-in of legacy cases (previously reported by acquired company), duplicate search and data entry quality check. This required minimal efforts from the client in terms of manual interventions. This significantly limited the need for QC resources.

The Client Recorded Significant Benefits Post Deployment

  • Early identification of short term remediations and non- standard documents due to an assessment, this also helped to save a lot of time.

  • This intelligent automation solution avoids the need to engage temp resources.

  • Average time taken per case up to 5 minutes depending on complexity.

  • Intelligent automation avoids multiple reviews of mapping documents.
