Martin Howard is a Partner with Fortium Partners LP. As the Healthcare CIO and Transformation Leader, Martin is grounded in his ability to utilize IT as a tool to drive change, manage costs, improve performance and increase profitability. Most recently, Martin served as Interim CIO of the New York Proton Center, to help design and launch the enterprise as a partnership among leading healthcare organizations Memorial Sloan Kettering, Mt. Sinai, Montefiore Health Systems, Varian Oncology, and Optum. Under his leadership, IT became a strategic element of NYPC’s value-based care model.

An accomplished CIO in the healthcare sector, Martin served as Interim CIO at Axia Women’s Health and launched an electronic medical records (EMR) system to over 100 locations. He has also served as Chief Information Officer of Amedisys, a $2 billion company, which provides home health and hospice care at centers in 40 states across the US. He led the development of the Amedisys Care Engine, a big data analytics program which provided reporting tools to drive measurable improvement in clinical outcomes, financial performance, and patient and employee satisfaction.

Earlier in his healthcare-centered career journey, Martin was co-creator of the Center for Performance Sciences (CPS), a data analytics company owned by the Maryland Hospital Association. Later, he held senior IT roles with Erickson, LLC, a builder of continuing care retirement communities; Patient Care, Inc., a home health care provider; and Ingenix Inc., the healthcare information technology subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group. Martin is recognized for his strong ability to blend established and cutting-edge technologies to support growth and innovation.

He has graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago.
